We experienced several of the Serena lodges last October (2019) and all were excellent. The Ngorongoro Serena Safari lodge topped all. No wonder then that the lodge is listed as part of the 100 best hotels in the world by Travel & Leisure (June 2019). Welcome, service, facilities and a dream location on the crater rim of Ngorongoro all contributed to our truly spectacular stay. All rooms have a balcony and face the crater. The view alone is worth the money. There was entertainment by the Masai at night. Good restaurant facilities with excellent food exist. The lodge offers and staff create a warm ambiance. Elevation here is around 6,000 feet. Clean air, comfortably cool at night and an unbelievable sky at night. Sunrise with a few low clouds woven into parts of the crater’s rim in the distance – beautiful. This is a very special place and we often think back to it.
