Mission & Experiences
David Kalama lives in Nairobi with his wife and two sons. David is a knowledgeable safari director and guide with more than 20 years of experience. He is an extraordinary wildlife expert and photographer who shares his expertise with safari guests. He and his driver guides speak English and other foreign languages (French, German, Spanish, Chinese, etc.) and have keen eyesight for spotting even the most camouflaged wildlife on game drives.
We at KALAMA Safaris design small group safaris to meet the needs of travelers of all ages, lengths of stay, attractions, and accommodations. We select perfect settings for viewing, experiencing, and photographing the beauty of East Africa’s people, wildlife, and landscapes

Traveled the world and never have we ever had a better director or guide. Because of David Kalama we have been going (to East Africa) for seven years. The first trip we were hooked, not only do we love Kenya and Tanzanian and the parks, but without David as our leader we would not continue to, he is what makes the whole trip successful. David is an excellent host. The trip was well planned with lots of great surprises. We saw everything we were hoping and more. David felt like part of our family immediately. The jeeps were comfy and well-stocked. The lodgings were amazing. The food and all the locations were amazing. There was always something for all tastes. We were treated like royalty. We had lots of time to see animals and rest and enjoy family time. We will absolutely be back for another adventure again
You are missing out on the best way to safari if you go with anyone other than David Kalama. He provides amazing connections that give you white glove service throughout the entire trip, his knowledge of the local history and animals is unmatched, and he will put you in the best possible position to get the best shots of all of the local flora and fauna.
