Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania. It has three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world: 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level.
Mount Kilimanjaro lies only 20 km from the Kenyan border and this is why you would get some of the best views of Kilimanjaro from the Kenyan side of the border such as Amboseli National Park.
