We stayed at the Writers Cottage from March 19th through March 24th, 2022. Everything about Gibbs farm and the cottages are just amazing. The cottage itself was cozy and comfortable and a great place to unwind from many days in safari camps. The cottages were spacious and our had a deck and terrace that had gorgeous views. Even the most panoramic picture could not capture the experience of the view.
The cottage had two showers including an outdoor shower that was still private. The open shower in the bathroom was interesting but also came with great local soaps and shampoo.
The restaurant in the main house was fantastic and both Dafay and George were a joy to talk with. They would greet us every time we saw them and just exude joy and happiness. One tip is since you are on a coffee farm, you must enjoy the coffee. It is just fantastic. The farm also offers many activities you can join in on if interested but we enjoyed just walking around the gardens on our own and enjoying the pool which had a view of the whole valley that is just breathtaking.
Gibbs farm is truly an oasis of peace and a great place to unwind after going on safari while also making a great base for exploring the Ngorongoro crater and region.
