The Mara Serena Safari Lodge is located on the rim overlooking the entire plain of the Masai Mara. It is fascinating standing on the platform looking down and seeing herds of elephants and giraffes moving around down on the plain. The Hotel is as spectacular as the site. The rooms are small cabins down along a walkway which is beautifully landscaped. The interior of the main building is fascinating since there are no straight lines anywhere, but rather has the soft curves you would expect in a mud hut, but it is painted with a glowing golden paint and is designed to let in as much light as possible.

The main building has a number of seating areas, a gift shop, and the dining room.The dining room offers an extensive buffet and the food is good. The rooms are very comfortable and have a seating area adjacent to the front window for sitting and enjoying the view. We had a king bed with a mosquito netting canopy.
This is really a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Maasai Mara.“
